Foil-faced (FSK) duct wrap of 24 to 32 kg/m³ and 25 to 50 mm thickness is the common specification for external duct insulation; duct liner is used internally for acoustic duty. Confirm density and facing from the approved specification.
Glass wool is lighter and more economical for HVAC and building duty up to about 250 °C; rockwool offers higher density, higher temperature limits and better acoustic mass for industrial and fire-rated work. The specification normally decides.
